What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that your browser stores on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site remember certain information about your visit (login session, preferences, etc.).
Why Pawbook uses cookies
Pawbook only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work: sign-in, language and, for professionals, statistics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. We do not currently use any audience measurement tool. Technical errors are tracked with Sentry, without cookies and without recording your sessions.
Categories of cookies used
| Name | Service | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-…-auth-token | Supabase | Sign-in to your account | 400 days (renewed when you use the site) |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Pawbook | Chosen language | Session |
| pb_stats_verrou | Pawbook | Statistics unlocked with a code (professionals) | Session |
The sign-in cookie is only set when you sign in, and it is deleted when you sign out. Your choice in the banner is kept in your browser's local storage (pawbook-cookies-consent) and does not leave your device. During a payment, Stripe's page (checkout.stripe.com) sets its own cookies, under Stripe's responsibility.
We do not currently use any audience measurement tool: accepting “Analytics” in the banner therefore loads nothing.
On a professional's profile, the Google Maps map only loads if you click “Show map”. Before that click, nothing is sent to Google. After the click, Google receives your IP address and the address shown, and may set its own cookies, depending on your browser settings.
Pawbook does not use any marketing or profiling cookies. We never sell your data.
Managing your cookies
At any time, you can:
- •Change your choices through the cookie banner (button below)
- •Disable cookies in your browser settings

This resets your preferences and shows the banner again.
